3D Kitchen Remodelling To Create The Finest Kitchen Cabinets

Introduction

Redesigning my kitchen was causing me a major problem. I just couldn't decide on anything I wanted. For me, the difficulty was that there were simply too many designs to choose from. This article details the 3d kitchen remodeling process I used for my kitchen, which have some of the finest kitchen cabinets in it. It's all down to a small piece of online software I came across on the Internet. Carry on reading and you too can also learn from my experience.

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted an oak kitchen countertop. But as I alluded to in the introduction, when it came to designing the rest of my kitchen I didn't have a clue. I still had to make a start on choosing a kitchen table and kitchen cabinets to match my kitchen countertop. Money was not the problem, the trouble was envisaging how the kitchen would turn out.

Whilst searching on the Internet for "finest kitchen cabinets", I came across some online software for 3d kitchen remodeling. This turned out to be a real godsend. It was only a couple of dollars for a monthly subscription and turned out to be exactly what I needed to get my creative design juices flowing. Like any new piece of software, it was slightly complicated to use at first, but once you got used to its strange idiosyncrasies, it was fine.

Basically, it allowed you to design the look of your own kitchen from scratch. First, you had to create the room itself by entering a few simple parameters to tell the program the general size and shape of the room and then you were away. The next step was to start adding and designing the kitchen cabinets themselves.

This is where the kitchen remodeling software really came into its own. In your virtual kitchen, it was easy to swap around the kitchen units, islands, fridges and sinks with the click of a mouse. I was also able to try the look of different finishes to my kitchen cabinets and worktops and gradually through a process of elimination, I ended up with my ideal kitchen without stepping into a kitchen showroom or DIY store.

Despite my initial preconceptions, I decided to go for a granite kitchen countertop setoff by sleek, modern looking kitchen cabinets. I was definitely going for the minimalistic look in my kitchen; there was not a storage jar in sight. Instead, I was making clever use of the finest kitchen cabinets I could find with multiple storage trays.

Conclusion

So, what are the main lessons that can be learned from my experience? When you are planning to redesign your kitchen, you need to make a good job of it as you will be investing a substantial sum of money. 3d kitchen remodeling software such as the package described above is just one way to make sure that you get a healthy return on your investment. Whether that return is when you eventually sell your house, or just through the enjoyment of living in a kitchen remodeled by you.

3D Modeling

3D model is basically from three dimensional images. 3D models are frequently developed by software applications. And also 3D models are broadly used in 3d graphics. Geometric mesh of triangles or polygons is illustrated by 3Dmodels but its under the control of 3D space. 3D modelers are used to develop the model through 3D mesh. Mesh use to alter their decision according to users. Models can be suggested in diversity of angles simultaneously. 3D modelers are interrelated to ray tracers.

Variety of 3D modeling:

3D modeling contains various types: They are

3D studio max:

3ds Max is generally made on 3ds graphics application. 3ds max is created by AutoDesk media and entertainment. 3ds max is the 9th version generation. Its can activate on window 32 and windows 64. 3ds max is frequently based on 3D animation programs. 3ds max contains strong and good capacity its movable plugin architecture on the Microsoft window platform. Its frequently used on video games developers. 3ds max mostly used on movies.

Cheetah 3D:

Cheetah 3ds is many used in professionals. Cheetah 3ds is have a various types of geometric primitives and also contains polygon meshes and bezier curves. Antialising, raytraced shadows, depth of field, HDRI lighting, soft shadowing and photo-mapped are used in cheetah 3ds.

Cinema 4D:

Cinema 4D is based on commercial platform which is high-end in 3D graphics. It is able to procedural and polygon modeling, animating, lighting, texturing and rendering. Cinema 4D is an admired in 3d application among action graphics. Cinema 4D is a runtime programming and scripting language. It has four different packages released by MAXON; cinema 4D applications are XL bundle, the studio bundle that includes modules and production bundle which indicates a service contract. Linux version is available in cinema 4D.

Modo:

Modo is a type of polygon and its an advanced polygon. Modo is one of the modeling packages are created by luxology. The program features are edge weighting and program run on Mac OSX and Microsoft windows platforms.

Rhinoceros 3D:

Rhinoceros 3D is an individual. Its typically based on modeling tool. Rhinoceros 3D is from AutoDesks AutoCAD software. This software is mainly used for industrial design, architecture, Marine design, jewelry design, automotive design, CAD/CAM fast prototyping, reverse engineering and graphic design. Rhino 3D frequently used in scripting language called Rhinoscript and also its commonly based on visual basic program.

Alias:

Animator and poweranimator is also simply called as Alias its use to established Maya and studiotools. Alias is an expensive, difficult, highly used industrial 3D modeling, animation and visual effects suite. Alias is commonly used on visual effects and animation industries.

Maya:

Maya is one of the most important and highlighted 3D computer graphics and 3D modeling software packages. Maya is developed by Alias. AutoDesk have control of media and entertainment division. AutoDesk formed in October 2005. Maya is frequently used in film and Television industry and computer video games also. Maya is most familiar in 3D software and refers from alias poweranimator.

Maya is derived from two parts, they are Maya complete and Maya unlimited. Maya unlimited is more expensive and related to 3D programs. Maya complete is less powerful package. Maya personal learning edition (PLE) is an available in Maya version. PLE is the water marked for all the Maya PLE images. The recent version of Maya is version 8.5 was outcome on January 2007. Break Up Recovery - Most Essential Things to Do After a Break Up

You having managed to move on with your life somehow doesn't mean that you recovered successfully from the break up. You might end up spending several years hopelessly thinking about your ex and cursing your mistakes. Our target should be the shortest time-span of pain and being able to move on to a happier life than ever before. Following these things in your life can definitely help you in that.

Be strong and courageous:
Being strong doesn't mean being insensitive, non-sentimental or heartless. A person who is strong faces a situation calmly instead of running away from it. If you want to be one of that kind, boldly face the break up situation. Never create unwanted emotional scenes in public. Face the world with a smile even if there is a storm inside.

If you and your ex girlfriend/boyfriend happen to meet after the break up and if the person is childish he/she might perform a variety of show-offs in front of you simply to hurt your ego. There lies a single solution- Ignore. Visualizing your ex as a kid can let you laugh at these petty show offs. If you are lucky enough to have an ex who handles situations in a mature way, your pain will be considerably low during the process of break up recovery.

Ventilate your feelings before you move forward:
Even after your contacts with the person are gone after the break up, there may be one huge load of emotional stuff that you need to ventilate. Since the significant one who used to be always there for you, has already gone and is now the reason for your pain, you have to count on your friends and family for support. Select the best of your friends and ventilate your feelings. Cry if you feel like crying. Laugh if you feel like laughing. Ventilate yourself completely. Make sure that you don't do this in public. Try to make this phase as short as possible, or most likely your friends and family will get bored hearing the same thing again and again.

Stop feeling guilty:
You are not the one who ditched someone. You were the one who got dumped. So you have no reason for being guilty. You might have made a thousand mistakes in the past. The question is whether you were ready to change and correct them. Have you expressed your apology and willingness for change to your ex? If so, your role in the play is totally over. You have done all that you could do. Now the ball is in the other court. Anything that can be done to this relationship can be done only by your ex, since you have already done all that you could do. Remember the temple example. You - the single pillar alone cannot hold the temple from falling.

Never let your self-esteem go down:
Your self-esteem might have to face a serious blow after getting dumped. A thousand questions popping out of nowhere virtually makes you doubt your own self-worth. The break up situation gets worse if your ex simply walked away without even showing concern to explain things- directly, through a phone call or at least through an email. You might feel like being in the center of a tornado of emotions where your friends, collegues, everyone starts throwing questions at you.

How ever depressing the situation be, never let your self-esteem go down because of this break up. Rely on your true friends and let them know that you need help. Friends can give you enormous support during these times. They can boost your self-esteem, get you engaged and happy. Use this time to do all the things you have always wanted to do.

Go to the gym and pump some iron. It will keep your hormones under check and also gives you a physique you can be proud of. Try on a different hair style, hair colour or what ever you like. Flirt, make friends and go to parties more often. If you are the one who got dumped, you have no reason to feel guilty in doing anything. Truly enjoy every moment of your life.

Gain Inspiration from the fall:
Did you know that love failures can be a very good inspiring force that drives creativity in artists, poets and writers? Even I could write a touching story after my break up and is now working on an elaborate novel. So why cant you do the same? Try expressing your pain through some form of creativity. It gives ventilation to your feelings. Write everything down. Ignore faces for a moment or the pain it would cause to them. Simply put them down on the paper.

You can also make a very strong commitment on your career. You can prove yourself by being successful in front of your unworthy ex who dumped you. Have you not heard the saying that Behind every man's success, there is a woman? (also behind suicides) Why cant you fulfill this proverb in your own way? Turn your love failure into your inspiring force.

Get busy with life:
Don't spend time alone. The best way to avoid this is to develop hobbies. Learn something new - I started learning violin after my breakup. Don't think that you are not in a mood now. Your mood depends on your actions, thoughts and surroundings. You can change the first two. And of course you can get out of the last one - surroundings. Never lock up inside your room. Try to avoid love-related movies and soap serials. (Watch breakup movies or action thrillers instead). Same applies to music.

Travel a lot with friends:
Avoid places you used to visit with your ex. Visit new places with your friends. Look around to see how beautiful, gorgeous and numerous are people of the opposite sex out there. You might have missed an eel, but it doesn't mean that you wont catch a whale

Gas and Electricity Prices Going Down

The price of wholesale energy went up due to the price of retail oil, so when the price of retail oil went down the price of wholesale energy should follow it, right? Wrong! Energy companies are staying very stubborn as they refuse to pass on their price reductions they enjoyably welcomed.

The UK have been hit badly this year on two occasions when the price of oil went up, energy rates hit all time highs and many people are struggling to stay warm.

The price of oil has plummeted to a third of what it once was six months ago.

Energy companies argue the fact that they do not pass price increases or decreases on straight away as they buy their fuel in advance so the government have urged them to do so as soon as possible.

There is also steps to reduce unfair charging if energy; people who live in certain areas may only be able to have their electricity via a pre pay meter. These pre pay meters are notoriously known for being over priced and the government are looking to stamp down on these high prices.

Many more people are falling into fuel poverty category due to the increases.

Gas prices are expected to be noticeable from the New Year, six months on from when they were at their highest. This is seen as too little too late, many people are set to struggle this winter already due to the high prices. In some cases, homes are deciding whether to eat or stay warm.

Compare gas and electricity prices in the New Year to make the most of the gas and electricity reductions, you are entitled to them.

Solar Power Solutions For Your Home - Run Your Home on Green Electricity

It is common knowledge today that fossil fuels, such as coal and oil, are non renewable and on their way out. Not to mention the adverse environmental impact they have. The only real solution is to utilize renewable, abundant, free, and clean energy sources such as solar power. I believe the only thing holding most people back from going green with solar panels is their thought of an expensive hassle of initial installation; this could not be further from the truth. Today one can build their own solar panel units with no technical expertise, at very little cost, and begin to not only eliminate their at home electric bill but also help ensure that the environment is preserved for future generations. Without even going completely solar powered you can convert some of your most electric hogging home devices to run on the sun. Such as:

A Solar Cooker:

A solar cooker is a great alternative to your traditional stove. You can not only bake food for as many as five people in a solar cooker but you can also roast and broil, pretty much rendering your primitive electric based stove useless and saving you a bundle.

Solar Lightning:

Obviously one of the most expensive and energy consuming aspects of modern life is electrical lighting. At low cost, without having to buy new lights, you can build a solar system that stores the electricity in solar cells. This allows your lights to run off of stored solar energy even at night time. This is one of the best ways to reduce your on the grid electric consumption.

Solar Heating:

Most of you have probably even thought of this in the past but were put off by the price. Let me throw a stat out there for you, these gadgets will pay for themselves by offsetting your electric costs in as little as three years. Plus the older ugly models have been replaces by new sleeker aesthetically pleasing versions. This is a great alternative, especially if you live in a cooler climate, to save on electricity.

The alternatives to eliminating your dependence on fossil fuels, and high electric bills, by going solar are limitless. What are you waiting for?

Build your own solar and wind power, cheap and easily, and eliminate your electric bills with DIY Wind and Solar Power.

Carpet Bags: Classic Style and Practicality

A carpet bag is a distinctively charming bag that is both useful and good looking. Carpet bags have been used for many years, but when Mary Poppins carried a carpet bag in the movie of the same title, these simple bags became famous. These classic bags are as versatile and useful as they are elegant.

Because they are no longer actually made from old carpet, these bags are also often called tapestry bags. Carpet bags have leather and brass details, and they are fully lined.
Modern carpet bags are made from heavy weight tapestry fabrics making them strong and durable while still having their own distinctive beauty and style.

The tapestry fabrics used to create these one of a kind bags are beautifully rich in color and texture. The fabrics distinctive motifs come from all over the world from places like the Middle East, and Asia.

The bag a woman carries says a lot about who she is and it sets the tone of the outfit she is wearing. Carpet bags are not trendy. They are a timeless, classic style that will set the woman who carries one apart. Each bag is individually made, so they are one of a kind with a character all their own. Youll have no need to worry about looking around and seeing everyone else carrying the exact same bag.

The larger, luggage style carpet bags are not just for women. Men with refined taste will appreciate the character and elegance of a carpet bag also.

So whether you choose a carpet bag tote, purse or overnight sized luggage, you can be sure that you will have a distinctive bag that will garner praise and compliments and the question that will follow you everywhere will be, Where did you get that bag?

Evelyn just *loves* bags, and carpet bags are her newest passion. Check out her blog: http://www.carpetbagshop.com, and share her passion.

The Dangers of Moving Fine Art

There are a number of good reasons why somebody might want to move art work. It could be a museum getting a new exhibit from a foreign country. It could be an temporary exhibition on a world tour. We see also more and more galleries and wealthy individuals acquiring expensive pieces of art and therefore having to move them for a number of personal reasons.

The top most important dangers when moving fine art are:

1. Direct physical forces: shock sustained by a dropped crate full of Faberg eggs or vibration from a bad truck.
2. Incorrect temperature: not planning the route well can cause your fine art to transit from hot and humid places to dry and cold ones, potentially ruining your art pieces.
3. Incorrect humidity: this is of course related to the quality of the packing and the route that is planned for the shipment.
4. Pest issues.
5. Water.
6. Vandals and thieves: fine art is most at risk of being stolen when it is moving, when it is not in the safe compounds of the gallery or museum.

The fragility of art has never been a secret, but it wasn't until the 1970s that art packing and transport got serious, as museums began applying standards developed by the military and the electronics industry to packaging treasures. As art values shot skyward in the '80s, a group of institutional professionals made an effort to codify the tricks of their trade. The effort resulted in "Art and Transit," an international conference held in London in 1991. "If you have ever wondered what happens to the painting inside the packing case when it topples off the tailgate of a truck or is rammed by a forklift, then this was the conference for you," reads a summary by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.

Moving art is especially difficult because of the very different nature of all the art. Fine art can be a small 10 by 10 painting and it can be a large 20 meters sculpture that is hanging from the ceiling of a big gallery. You obviously do not attack the problem the same way. Moving fine art is therefore considered as an art in itself because very often the solutions do not come already made in a text book. Experience and creativity comes in handy.

If you are working in this field you can learn more about the mistakes of others and share your experience of moving fine art.

Alex Teo is the author and moderator of http://www.finearts-movers.com - This blog is dedicated to all professionals/or not, that had to deal with the pain of moving fine art.

Alex Teo has worked in the field of specialized moving services for more than 10 years and wishes to share his experience with everybody who might need it.

Animation Art Collecting #1 - What Determines Price

The most common question asked by a person just starting to collect animation art is, "What determines the prices of animation art?" There are six main pricing factors: (1) age and rarity, (2) character and image, (3) studio and film, (4) background, (5) signatures and (6) condition.

The more rare a piece of art the higher the demand, and the higher the retail price. Simple supply and demand. Animation art in all forms was once just considered a byproduct of the final film. As such, they held no value and were thrown away or the cels were wiped clean from the acetate and the acetate was reused.

Almost every studio at some point either sold the original art as novelty gifts for pennies or they gave them away as promotional items. In the early 1980's, studios rediscovered the concept of selling their ORIGINAL artwork, and there was an instant demand. They began to authenticate each new piece with a seal. Buyers were then assured of the authenticity of each piece and the studios were able to archive the art and control distribution.

As prices for vintage material continued to grow, studios started to increase prices for contemporary material as well. The prices of some contemporary pieces have now risen to those of vintage pieces. But there is one major difference between vintage and contemporary pieces - the number of existing vintage pieces is low and will never increase. What is on the market today, aside from what current owners have, is what exists. The number of pieces of contemporary art, on the other hand, continued to rise until recently when computer animation started gaining ground. Each studio has hundreds of thousands of pieces in their archives!

Primary characters command a higher price simply because they are more popular. But prices can vary wildly even for the same character from the same film from the same sequence. The better the image or pose the higher the price. A waist-up image will sell for quite a bit less than a full-figure image; eyes closed for less than eyes open; Ultimately the most expensive cels depict a major character, full-figure, center of the cel, large in height, eyes open, non-profile.

Cels with backgrounds will obviously draw a higher price than those without. Cels applied to key-master, or "matching" backgrounds are most expensive. Key-master backgrounds appeared with the same cel in the same feature. If you looked at the film you would be able to pause it and see that the still on your TV is exactly the same as you see hanging on your wall.

Cels applied to production backgrounds are also more expensive, but less than those applied to key-master backgrounds. Production backgrounds have actually been used in production but not with the same character in the cel. You will see the cel you own in a film, and you will see the production background you own in a film, but you will not see them together in the same scene.

Laser / copy backgrounds add artistic value to a cel, but are not actual backgrounds. These are reproductions of the original key-master background applied as a background to the original cel.

Some collectors seek pieces that are signed by someone involved with the studio or the animation of the film, such as directors, animators, and voice actors. Signed pieces combine two collectibles - autographs and animation art - and as such can be much more expensive than unsigned pieces. Remember that rarity is also a factor in autograph pieces.

The last factor that determines price is condition. Cels are fragile. Many have been repaired in the past (not unusual) and still command a high price. Still others have been trimmed and applied to other backgrounds with adhesive. Depending upon the rarity of the piece these may still command top dollar. Keep your collection in a dry area out of direct sunlight and us only acid-free matting and backing to maintain the value for years to come.

How the Understanding of Print Processes Helps a Graphic Designer?

The purpose of this article is to concentrate on the various aspects of printing process that any "Graphic Designer" must know for the job to be executed without controversies or difficulties. As with the graphic design fundamentals a print process also involves specific principles that every designer must know. That proverbial "thin hairline" must always remain 'thin' and the graphic designer must realise this golden rule.

Mastering the Print Design & Process

Printing is the process of translating ideas into a visible and aesthetic hardcopy. Graphic design is the basis of those 'ideas' mentioned in the preceding sentence. One therefore can lead to the other and this thought must be properly understood by graphic artists or designers. What are the points that help in understanding the print design and printing process? These can be summarised as follows:

  • The basic printing processes for various types of printing jobs.
  • Colour chemistry is an important topic along with the subject of colour matching. Some idea must be available with the graphic designers of this branch of print designing and processing. One need not be a chemist to appreciate the fundamental principles.
  • Types of papers available for printing, their salient features and properties, and the aspect of printability.
  • Printing terminology and its meaning.
  • Print machinery - types, limitations, printing range, etc.
  • Colour separation techniques, progressive printing process, bleed concepts, print stability, print retention and shade change etc. Nearly all software meant for graphic designing incorporate colour separation techniques to assist the designer in specifying the colour printing order.

Graphic Designer is a link to the Management and the Printer!

Ideas converted into a reality on paper or Internet (World Wide Web) is the essence of graphic design. How this design is converted into a hard copy for printed literature or information becomes the basis of print design. The graphic designer or even the print designer is that all important link between management ideas and the final product for the customers. Thus the 'teamwork' ensures proper communication channels that induce the prospects to become customers. It is akin to how a composer (aka graphic designer) creates a tune; the musician (aka print designer) translates this into the musical notation, the artist (aka printer) translates that into a song that the music lover (customer) buys for his listening pleasure or usage!

Graphic & Print designing are two sides of the same coin!

Many times a company only requires their information or marketing literature to be viewed on the Internet. In such cases the role of a graphic designer is all that is important and the need of print designing or printer not that necessary. However, if the design is to be eventually also translated into a printed brochure, flyer, sales letter, annual report, or technical information sheets etc it becomes imperative to amalgamate with the printing process. This is where the knowledge of print designing and printing comes into play. This could of course be only an exception and in a majority of cases it is a combination of web presence with hardcopy information. Therefore in conclusion it can be said that both disciplines are needed in an organisation to have a complete Design Group.

4 Tips For a More Enjoyable Running Session

Everyone knows how hard it can be to find motivation sometimes - especially on those dark and dreary days that make you wish you could stay in bed and sleep all day! The last thing you want to do is go for a run!

But the weather is definitely not the only deciding factor. There are tons of things in life that help determine what you really feel like doing from day to day.

Lets face it - there are not many people out there who really LOVE to run. This article reveals for tips that I give people when they come to me saying they hate running.

1. Interval Training. Contrary to what your grandparents may have taught you, the good, old-fashioned way is not always the best way. Running IS boring when you do it for an hour at the same pace!

Instead, try interval training. Here is why:

- It is way more time-efficient than steady state cardio.

- It is way more effective than steady state cardio, both in the areas of fat loss and your overall health and condition- this is research-proven!

- It is much more enjoyable! Interval training will only last 15-20 minutes, compared to one hour of steady running, and you will see amazing results!

2. Apparel Shopping. The best place for your old gym suit from the Class of 1998 is the top shelf of your wardrobe, where you can look at it and reminisce from time to time.

Deciding to get in shape requires a lifestyle change, and when you decide to make a lifestyle change, there are small changes you need to make along the way.

Obviously, to get in shape, you are going to have to change your nutrition, your exercise habits and your mindset.

So where does a new outfit fit into this? It is also important to find things you can associate with your new lifestyle - like a track suit.

I am not saying it has to be an expensive one, but a new, good-looking suit will help you feel even better about your new lifestyle!

3. Running Shoes. New running shoes will also make you feel good about your new lifestyle - but they have even greater importance here. When a pair of running shoes becomes old, it loses much more than just color - it loses cushion, and without cushion, running shoes are worthless.

A new pair of running shoes is essential for decreasing injuries and for your overall health. AND it will also give you the feeling that you are actually flying!

Running shoes are one of those things where you get what you pay for. The more you pay, the better protected you will be, and the more you will feel like flying!

I highly recommend that you do not buy a pair of cheap sneakers to run in. Although you may think that you cannot tell the difference initially, it WILL lead to pain in your knees and ankles a little further down the road.

There are many big brands that carry very high quality shoes. Keep that in mind when you visit your local sporting goods store.

4. Music. I will not make you get rid of everything from the good old days! Music is one area in which you can use that old walkman (if you so choose) and listen to that old time rock n roll!

I will recommend, however, that you DO listen to music - whatever genre you prefer. It is essential for getting the most enjoyment out of your workout, and I recommend that you have some sort of media player (whether it be a walkman, iPod or MP3 player) with you at all of your workout sessions. I know I do!

So there you have it - 4 great tips that will help you stay motivated throughout your workout sessions! Alright, go get them!

Tips For Choosing the Right Satellite TV Service

The pleasure of having satellite TV access is parallel to the quality of the satellite TV company that provides the service for you. Since all service providers actually offer the same type of technology, it all pretty much boils down to a few factors you have to consider. Here are tips for choosing the right satellite TV service that will give you years of excellent service in terms of quality and reliability:

Decide on what you want to have.

One of the best reasons to get satellite TV service is that you get access to literally hundreds of channels that range from news to sports to films to music videos to religion to home shopping to international programming. Now, out of all the hundreds of channels you have, determine how many of these you can actually view.

It's a common mistake among first-time satellite TV service subscribers to get carried away by the figures. After all, who wouldn't want to boast of having access to 350 channels at the neighborhood barbecue? Never mind that you probably only spend a few minutes each day browsing through about 50.

When choosing a satellite TV service for you, consider the kind of stuff you want to see and will actually make time for to view. If you like lots of premium film or movie programming, for example, DISH Network may be the better choice for you. If you prefer premium sports programming, then perhaps DirecTV is the right provider.

Consumer or corporate?

Decide whether you need to apply for a consumer subscription or a corporate subscription. Most providers will give you bundled offerings that include TV access, phone and Internet. Find out which one offers the best deal for your specific needs.

Do you like high-def?

If you have a new TV that can handle high definition images, why let it go to waste? Take advantage of what satellite TV service companies are offering you and let your TV show its stuff. If you like high-definition programming, choose the satellite TV service that offers more channels in this type of programming.

Do you like international programming?

There are many reasons why people are opting for multicultural TV programming. In fact, this has become so popular that it is actually considered a genre these days. For one, international programming offers you excellent access to many of the world's cultures.

If you like learning about other countries - their customs, traditions, practices, even their language/s, then you might want to consider choosing a satellite TV service company that offers this type of package. Multicultural TV programming is an excellent source of learning and information, particularly for specialized studies or language learning. Most shows are captioned for easy comprehension.

Simply choose whether you prefer to view individual channels or buy entire packages altogether for better value. You could choose from a number of language channels including Chinese, Spanish, Korean, German, French, Russian, Farsi, Armenian, Tagalog and Polish, among others.

Do you need the hardware?

Generally, when you have your satellite dish installed, you can't take it with you should you wish to move. However, in terms of hardware, there are satellite TV service companies that give these away.

Living off the grid?

Most of the major satellite TV service providers offer access for subscribers who live in the countryside or other remote locations. When choosing a satellite TV service, look for a company that focuses on the type of location you have. There's a good chance they might have the best service.

The Right Way to Display an EBook

In my last article I taught you how to setup an eBook. Now that you have an eBook it is time to set it up for marketing. Since we want to sell our writing as a book (eBook or not) we need a simple way to display it on our web page. This isn't overly difficult to accomplish. All it takes is some thought about what sells a book.

The old clich "You shouldn't judge a book by its cover" really comes into play here. Why?

Whether you should or shouldn't, the simple fact is that most people do. The average reader will judge your book by simply looking at the cover. Since we are making a marketing tool here, we then require a picture of our eBook. Luckily this isn't hard to accomplish with the right software. All we need is a what is called a book shot.

There are all sorts of 3D book cover programs out there. They range in pricing from $30 up to well over $150. There are also a few services around the web that will put together a professional design for you (at about the same cost).

My personal choice here is a program called Box Shot 3D The software is simple to use and costs around $50. For our purposes here we will cover how to make a book shot with this software. Here is your simple guide to making your eBook display image for the web (the quick and easy way).

  1. Open up the software and then click on the shapes tab. Select the hardcover book #2 from the list of shapes.

  2. Click on the files tab. Here we will use the cover that we made in the last article, and also make a new image. For the front image use the cover that you used for your first page in the eBook (you did read my last article, right?). Now all we need is a side image.

  3. Open up your graphics software and make a new image 50 pixels wide and 650 pixels high. Design this to match your cover for color and style. For some added flare write the name of the book vertically on the image, and the authors last name (also vertically) at the bottom.

  4. Save your image and then use it for the side image of your book shot.

  5. Finally click on Final Render in the box shot 3D software and export it to whatever size you would like. I usually render it in a higher resolution and then use that high resolution image to make smaller file size web graphics.

You now have a professional looking cover to use on your website. When your visitors are reading what your eBook is about they are also presented with an image that make it look more like a book. This simple step will go a long way in helping you to make more sales.

What is a 7.1 Sound System - Should You Have One?

One of the first pieces of tech specs you'll run into when building your own dream home theater is "5.1" , "7.1" and to a lesser extent "6.1" speaker systems. Typically a home theater system and most movie house systems consisted of a center channel, a pair of left and right speakers, side or surround speakers, and a subwoofer. Each set of speakers in a 5.1 setup have a different function. The center channel provides you with a clear dialogue channel. Optimum surround sound home theater reproduction places heavy demands on the center channel speaker, which in many respects is the main speaker in the system and often handles 50% or more of the program material. It is no place to compromise and settle for second best. Normally this speaker is placed either on top or just below the screen, and even behind the screen in some in some projector systems with an acoustically transparent screen.

The left and right speakers carry the bulk of the sound and music. Most effects sounds, music and score and a good portion of the background sounds. These are typically your largest and most expensive speaker pair. They have the greatest tonal range, from mid-low to high range sounds are handled by this pair of speakers.

The surround speaker open up the sound stage, allowing you to experience those effects that put you in the action of the movie, cars approaching you from the side during a car chase, spaceships whizzing be around you, or the menacing sounds of the jungle wildlife in the Serengeti.

The subwoofer brings in the bass, creating those chest-pounding explosions and bringing to like thud and crash. Positioning of the subwoofer does not really matter all that much as the human ear does not accurately position low frequency sounds. The subwoofer is the ".1" in "5.1", meaning 5 speakers and one subwoofer.

This was your typical setup and all was well, but along came 7.1 and to a lesser extent 6.1 adding one or two speaker to in the rear of the listening area. This addition will add a more enveloping sound and open up the soundstage even further, allowing for the illusion of being part of the film. Some enthusiasts do not feel that the rear speakers are necessary at all. In fact all DVDs have no more than a 5.1 soundtrack. Some newer high end receivers can translate a 5.1 signal into a 7.1 signal such as Dolby Pro-Logic II. This is done by using mathematical algorithms create a separate 6th audio channel that is then pumped to one or two rear speakers (if they are present).

At this point either 6.1 or 7.1 was nice, especially if you had a couple of extra speakers you could throw in the back. Matching timbre with the rest of the speakers is not very important when adding rear speakers, so really any decent loudspeakers would do. Then along came Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, these formats would hold much more data and made it possible to add 7 discrete channels (each channel having a separate and distinct signal), plus a low frequency effects channel LFE (subwoofer). At this point fewer than about 20% of Blu-Ray releases have a 7.1 audio format, studios are aware that most people still have 5.1 systems, but this trend is changing and would speculate that in just a few years 7.1 will be the standard audio format for movie releases and home theaters.

The Panasonic AG HVX200 has many upgraded and additional features making it a high end camcorder for the more professional video makers. The Panasonic AG HVX200 offers an extensive menu which new users may find a little daunting, the more professional on the other hand will be amazed at what this camcorder has to offer.
